Art & Soul DIY Studio has a policy of maintaining positive art studio etiquette at all times, even outside. The policy's are as follows:
At Art & Soul in Crown Point, we believe that everyone has both the desire & need to create.
Our talented artists have thoughtfully designed a wide array of creative & fun, canvas painting ideas & DIY home decor projects.
After being expertly guided through our easy-breezy processes, you will be amazed at how artistically creative you really are!
Gather with friends, family & kindred spirits alike for a truly rewarding art experience!
A private party or event at Art and Soul is the perfect way to celebrate a birthday or any special occasion.
Our workshops are a fun and effective tools for public fund raising events, team building/bonding exercises, Scouts badges & group outings.
You choose from our selection of themes & activities and we'll do the rest!
Enhance your child's developmental growth through sensory & creative play with Doodle Babies and Doodle Kids.
Our weekly after school Art Club are more than art lessons. Art teaches us to observe & analyze the world around us closely. This results in increased problem solving abilities, patience & wonderment
of the world around us.
Art & Soul DIY Studio has a policy of maintaining positive art studio etiquette at all times, even outside. The policy's are as follows:
- Kindness Courtesy & Respect at all times. We'll discuss the true meanings of these words & try to emulate them.
- No "hating on" one's self, example "My drawing is bad, I'm not good at this!" It's a bad habit that can be seen as 'humble' but it hampers a child's confidence & self belief. We prompt children to use positive words about themselves & that there is no right or wrong with art & making mistakes is not a bad thing, it's just a step in the journey towards mastery.
- No "hating on" anyone else or their work. Artists must be respectful of other's at all times. Compliment words are introduced during regular 'critiques'. This helps provide the children with tools to see things objectively not subjectively. Phrases such as "I don't like it" are replaced with "I like that part because...".
- Please touch everything EXCEPT other campers & their art work (unless necessary to the activity).
- Respect the materials. We use real artist materials & it's important to treat them with respect. Also we reuse and recycle almost everything. If dropped... pick it up, etc. Also, materials are shared between everyone who uses the studio, even after camp. .
- The studio isn't a classroom & the artists are not teachers. If a child doesn't want to be there they don't have to be. Behavior is not normally an issue because creating art comes naturally to most children. If disruptions ppersist after a few warnings, unfortunately, the child will be asked to leave with no refund.
- Please ask questions! There is truly is no such thing as a "stupid" question. Curiosity is intelligence in action, if you don't ask you won't know?
- Try your best to listen without interrupting.
