Welcome to Art & Soul DIY Studio's Summer Art Camp! Each week revolves around a different artistic theme. Campers will discover new materials, artists & skills BUT they'll be having so much fun they won't even notice they're learning!
Your child will create at least 5 beautiful artworks each day. However, you'll have to wait to see them. On Friday, the artists finally get to present their beautiful work at their very own art exhibition! Pick up is 15 minutes early so family & friends can enjoy the art on show while enjoying some light refreshments.
Please browse the weekly themes below & get your child signed up A.S.A.P.
Camp sizes are limited, don’t delay in registering! Daily snack is included.

Big Colors & Bold Textures

This week, we will explore the expressive style of artists like Vincent Van Gogh. Each session is packed full of fun projects inspired by vibrant colors & thick, swirly whirly textures. Campers will be introduced to easy portrait, landscape & fun still-life techniques using puffy paint, glitter glue, palette knives & a lot more!
Both the morning & afternoon sessions will have an opportunity to use the projector to make an amazing self portrait as good as Vincent's!

Week Five: July 11th-July 15th
Nature Week!

Dreamcatchers, mobiles, wind chimes, sculptures, prints, rubbings & a longtime summer camp favorite, Gods eyes! All will all be created with the help of mother nature, found objects & upcycling.
To gather our materials, we will be visiting 'The Artist Gathering Place' in Lowell, weather permitting
. This park is a short walk from the studio & there will be at least 3 coordinators to walk the children there safely. The children can enjoy snack time in the gazebo with their new friends. Or just lay in the grass & stare at the clouds for inspiration, making beautiful art out of thin air! Why will we be going there? Because we are artists... we need to gather & this is our place! We will provide daily snacks.

Week Six: July 18th-July 22th
Process Art: Spin, Pour & Dip

This weeks projects are gloriously messy beautiful fun! Process Art is pure expression. The end product is important but NOT as important as the process...the journey of creation. It's not all about being messy. It requires a surprising amount of restraint & understanding of the materials to make a beautiful mess.  What's pendulum painting? Dirty pour? Chain pulling? Hydro dipping? Book this session to find out! This is an amazing experience not to be missed.

Warning- Common side effects of attending Art & Soul's DIY Studio Art Camp include:
  • Becoming more patient & thoughtful.
  • Developing creative problem solving abilities.
  • Finding one's own voice.
  • Growing in self confidence.
  • Learning from mistakes instead of giving up.

The above pictures were taken during Art & Soul's 2021 Summer Camp in the previous Crown Point location.
The weekly theme concepts, processes & interactive lessons
were designed & taught by Art & Soul DIY Studio owner, Krista Gray. Gray combines 30 years of fine art experience with her fun teaching style. She has a knack for coaxing even the most anxious & shy child 'out of their shell, instilling them with self belief.
This year, Krista will be collaborating with Lowell Artist, Courtney Smith. Smith, a talented artist, also possesses experience in practicing intuitive painting, meditation & yoga. Her beautiful nature & kindness is infectious!

We are excited to explore our fabulous new Lowell location & will be visiting 'The Artists Gathering Place' & the much loved selfie murals in the municipal parking lot around the corner. Both adventures are close by  & can be accessed by sidewalk. There will be 3-4 coordinators to chaperone the children safely. Weather permitting. All permission waivers available to be reviewed at sign in.
